| Brief overview |
| Utah, the 45th state, in spite of being host to deserts, and mountains, ranks as the 4th top state in the digital economy index. Then there is the trust factor – with more people believing that others can be trusted. The social activity is more as reflected by more number of parents attending the town and school meetings. The more tempting factors are the lower cost of living numbers, lower pollution levels, good scores in education, better health rates, and the government bonds ranked AAA (S&P 1999) More than 80% of the population is concentrated along the Wasatch Front of northern Utah; with few towns outside of this Salt Lake City that have more than 5,000 people. There is a strict code of conduct (Mormon Code Of conduct) being followed by a majority of the Utahns which makes it a 1950s sort of place. The weekend attractions include excellent skiing, river rafting, bicycling, and backpacking, and the places Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion National Parks; Cedar Breaks, Dinosaur, Hovenweep, Natural Bridges, Rainbow Bridge, Timpanogos Cave, and Grand Staircase (Escalante) National Monuments; the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City; and Monument Valley. Salt Lake City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. |

Words- Sam Francis, Gary Francis
Utah! People working together
Utah! With its mountains and valleys.
It was Brigham Young who led the pioneers across the
plains.
Utah! With its focus on family,
Utah! Getting bigger and better.
There is beauty in the snow-capped mountains, in the
lakes and streams.
Utah! With its pioneer spirit.
Utah! Utah! Utah! |
